WoodSafe-Interior
Description

WoodSafe-Interior is an off site treatment with a certified Group 1-S rating to timber and is for use in dry areas only. It can be coated with any stains or oils from leading paint manufacturers.

For exterior use, wet areas and areas with high humidity use Fireshield WoodSafeX.

  • No maintenance required for the fire rating, the fire protection properties of the Fireshield WoodSafe system will remain for the service life span of the timber
  • Fireshield WoodSafe timber products are certified sustainable by FSC and PEFC
  • Tested to EN13501-1:2010 and achieves Fire Class B-s1-d0. This is recognised as equivalent to Group 1-S under the NZBC Clause 3.4(a) providing compliance with NZBC C/AS1-C/AS7
  • Fireshield WoodSafe timbers meet the durability requirements of NZBC B2.3.1 (c)

Scope of Use
  • Fireshield WoodSafe-Interior timbers are for dry interior environments on walls, ceilings and timber features such as wall and ceiling battens
  • For use as timber battens and fins, wall and ceiling linings in a dry internal environment with a maximum constant relative humidity of 75%
  • Achieves the highest Group surface rating available in New Zealand, Group 1-S
  • Screw or nail fixings can be used
  • Fireshield WoodSafe-Interior fire protection system has the ability to resist impact and abrasion
  • Coatings applied to Fireshield WoodSafe timbers will need to be maintained as per the coating manufacturers technical specifications
Limitations on Use

Not suitable for:

  • Exterior use: timber battens and fins, wall and ceiling/soffit linings in exterior exposed environments.
  • Interior wet areas: timber battens and fins, wall and ceiling linings in a humid and wet internal environment with a maximum constant relative humidity above 75%

For exterior use, wet areas and areas with high humidity use Fireshield WoodSafe-Exterior.

Statement of Building Code Compliance
  • Tested to EN13501-1:2010 and achieves Fire Class B-s1-d0. This is recognised as equivalent to Group 1-S under the NZBC Clause 3.4(a) providing compliance with NZBC C/AS1-C/AS7
  • Fireshield WoodSafe timbers meet the durability requirements of NZBC B2.3.1 (c) for 5 and 15 years

Other Performance Attributes

Fireshield WoodSafe® impregnated timbers have been tested to EN16755:2017 (INT-1 and INT-2) for durability of reaction to fire performance and can be used in dry interior environments with a maximum constant relative humidity of 75%.

Warranty

When stored, installed and maintained in accordance with Fireshield documentation, the Fireshield WoodSafe range of timbers are maintenance free for fire protection properties for the lifetime of the timber. The Fireshield treatment process does not decrease the service life of the timber species.

Fireshield WoodSafe timbers meet the durability requirements of NZBC B2.3.1 (c) for 5 and 15 years.
