Fire Wraps
Description

Pipe Wraps are designed for installation in solid construction walls and floors, consisting of intumescent layers sealed in a polyethylene sleeve. The sleeve features double-sided tape for easy installation.

In the event of a fire, the intumescent material expands into the penetration cavity as the burning plastic pipe melts, forming a fire-resistant plug to prevent the spread of fire.

The pipe wrap is designed to have the ends of the intumescent material meet around the circumference of the pipe. No overlap exists, allowing the pipe to be centrally located within a core hole. For pipe sizes up to 100mm, only one layer of intumescent material is required, ensuring core holes can be kept to a minimum size. Allproof pipe wraps have been tested on various plastic pipes and are available in stock sizes from 40-150mm.

Made in New Zealand.

Limitations on Use

As per requirements set out in NZBC C/AS2 Clause 4.4 Allproof fire stopping products installation “shall be identical to those of the prototype used in tests to establish their FRR”.

Allproof passive fire systems are required to be used in closed, internal spaces, protected from excessive moisture, solvents, oxidising agents, acids and alkalis. They should not be exposed to UV light in service.

Separation or protection must be provided to Allproof Passive Fire Protection Products from heat sources such as fireplaces, heating appliances and chimneys. Part 7 of NZBC Acceptable Solution C/AS1 and C/AS2, and NZBC Verification Method C/VM1 provide methods for separation and protection of combustible materials from heat sources.

Statement of Building Code Compliance

NZBC C/AS2 C3.1, C3.2 and C3.3: Allproof PFP products are designed to limit the spread of fire between property from its origin by sealing service penetrations in the separating elements of fire cells. The Technical Literature gives the fire resistance ratings (FRRs) for the Allproof Passive Fire Protection Products that can be achieved to provide the FRR’s as determined by NZBC Acceptable

Solutions C/AS1, C/AS2 and NZBC Verification Method C/VM2.

NZBC C/AS2 4.4 Fire Stopping: Allproof PFP products have been tested in accordance with Appendix C C5.1 for fire stopping. Detailed information on the tested prototypes is available in Allproof’s PFP literature to assist with the correct product selection and install details. When installed as per documentation Allproof PFP products will provide an FRR consistent with the published results and therefore, if selected correctly, no less than the separating element.

NZBC B2: Allproof Passive Fire Protection Products meet code compliance with the NZBC Clause B2.3.1 (b), 15 years.

NZBC F2.3.1 Allproof Passive Fire Protection Products does not present a health hazard to people.

In-Service History

These products have been used in a huge variety of buildings including government and council projects such as schools.

Allproof's Fire Wraps are also available off the shelf in most plumbing merchant branches.

Other Performance Attributes

At the core of the Allproof passive fire protection product range is the advanced intumescent technology. This enables Allproof to offer products with performance and design advantages for engineers and installers of passive fire protection products.

Allproof’s intumescent material expands when exposed to heat and as its volume increases with significant expansion pressure, it produces a stable char. The intumescent char formed is a poor conductor of heat, retarding heat transfer and retaining the integrity and insulation of service penetrations through otherwise fire-resistance rated walls or floors.
