Scope of Use

Allproof Industries' commercial linear drainage provides a solution for all heavy-duty channel requirements. Available in a range of sizes and grate options, and available rated from load class A to E.

Design requirements

  • All channels and grates come as standard with lockdowns to secure the grates and prevent any damage through movement. Security lockdowns may be available depending on system set-up and project requirements. Please contact Allproof for more information.
  • Grates from this range can be utilised on other systems manufactured by Allproof Industries, allowing designers to create consistency throughout their projects.
  • The system design accommodates runs of up to 43 meters, terminating at a sump. A mirror image can then be run in the opposite direction, resulting in a maximum length of 86 meters between sumps. Overall, the system length is unlimited. This may be reduced dependent on required capacities or other constraints. Allproof recommends engaging a Hydraulics Consultant with your exact requirements.
  • On site mitre cuts are used to form corners, junctions and irregular lengths.
  • Joints can be sealed with a suitable flexible sealant if required.
  • Outlets are achieved by utilising pre-marked knockouts.
  • Allproof supplies a wide range of grates to meet durability and capacity requirements. These include stainless steel, galvanised steel, glass-filled nylon and cast iron.
Limitations on Use

The system design accommodates runs of up to 43 meters, terminating at a sump. A mirror image can then be run in the opposite direction, resulting in a maximum length of 86 meters between sumps. Overall, the system length is unlimited.

A minimum concrete surround is required to meet load capacity requirements. Please see documentation available on allproof.com.

Installation requirements

  • A minimum concrete surround is required to meet load capacity requirements. Please see documentation available on allproof.com.
  • Channels are set to height on a bed of concrete to achieve the required embedment and finished paving height.
  • Allproof suggests that site concrete is used to haunch the channel into position and prevent movement during concrete placement.
  • It is imperative to support the channel from the weight of the setting concrete by having either the original grates or appropriate bracing in place. Protect grates from concrete contamination during installation by wrapping them in plastic or masking tape. Alternatively, timber infills to match the grate width can be installed during the concrete pour to maintain channel design width.
  • Chemicals used during installation and finishing may react with a galvanised edge and/or grates, please ensure this has been catered for or a stainless steel finish may be required.
