Description

Metro Series ThermalHEART® sliding doors have a flushline sill track with smooth sliding panels. They slide on an external track and are rated to 2.7m high. For higher doors consider using APL Architectural Series ThermalHEART®. Interlocker stiles and mullions are flush in the closed position.

An exterior sliding track as standard
The sill frame has a flush track to optimise inside-to-outside plane
Interlocker stiles and mullions are flush in the closed position
Door stiles and rails feature slender sightlines
Interlockers vary in depth according to height, width and wind pressure requirements
Corner sliding doors (90°) are available with no corner post (exterior and interior corners)
Innovative sill frame design improves weather and water resistance — door height of 2700mm possible in demanding wind zones. For larger sizes consider using APL Architectural Series ThermalHEART®
Maximum glass thickness of 44mm IGU — compliance with NZBC clause H1 Energy Efficiency requires high performing Low-E double glazing

Scope of Use

Suitable for broad residential use, including in apartments and buildings over 10m in height
Available in defined maximum sizes

Limitations on Use

For true, flush indoor-outdoor levels consider recessing the sill into the floor pad to minimise or eliminate upstand
Sashes in sidelights need to be carefully considered and out of the travel path of the door panel
Recommended maximum 2700mm high doors in Very High wind zones — for larger sizes consider using APL Architectural Series ThermalHEART®
Compliance with NZBC clause H1 Energy Efficiency requires high performing Low-E double glazing

Statement of Building Code Compliance

Designed, tested and manufactured to meet NZS 4211: Specification for Performance of Windows, and NZS 4233: Glazing in Buildings, Parts 1-4
Conforms to all relevant NZ Building Code clauses

In-Service History

Redesigned and relaunched in 2023 (previous version 2012)
New range rolling out nationally; previous version in use in residential projects, including medium rise, throughout New Zealand by homeowners, builders, Group home builders and specifiers

Other Performance Attributes

Window and door warranty provided under normal conditions of use against failure of materials and workmanship for a period of five years
Surface finish is covered by a separate performance warranty dependent on the actual finish selected. Metro Series ThermalHEART® products can have a different colour on the interior and exterior faces as an optional choice
A hardware/componentry warranty is offered against defects in manufacturing, functionality and surface finish for a period of five years, provided care and maintenance guidelines have been followed
