Luxury Victoria Lane Residences Enhanced by Symonite’s Full Façade Cladding System

A collection of 23 luxury residences set over four levels, Victoria Lane in Auckland’s Remuera presents upmarket living designed by Leuschke Group Architects. Working for main contractor CMP Construction, Symonite is a façade specialist uniquely positioned to deliver projects that are challenging either in size or complexity, or both.

"Offering our Full Façade service, we provided and installed both the T50 and proprietary AlphaRail pre-cladding systems, Siderise passive fire protecton system, window and door joinery, solar shading, fire rated windows, louvres and more," says Matthew Harris, Senior Technical Advisor at Symonite. "This complete service allowed the architects to collaborate on the façade design at the earliest stages of the project, and for head contractor CMP Construction to have a single point of contact taking responsibility for the successful completion of all façade elements outside the limestone cladding."

Combining premium products in a complete solution

AliClad is an extruded aluminium weatherboard system that is installed vertically on proprietary Alpha rails run horizontally. It comes in a series of proprietary profiles – square grove, V groove, board & batten – and all profiles clip together within the system. Duratec powder coated for durability, board and batten AliClad provided Victoria Lane with a robust and beautifully detailed finish when complemented by the Alucolux panels.

A 3mm solid, coil-coated aluminium sheet material for exterior cladding and interior linings, Alucolux is the perfect combination of temper and hardness to perform when exposed to wind loads and pressure. Alucolux provides solutions for architects, developers, and construction companies looking for a premium solid aluminium façade panel they can safely specify without compromising design.

Combining these solid panels with windows, doors, and louvres from trusted suppliers, such as ACMF and APL, allows Symonite to offer a Full Façade service and a complete solution to demanding, high-end projects like Victoria Lane.

Performance and aesthetics combine in a contemporary aluminium cladding system, designed in New Zealand for local conditions.

The AliClad Max system is designed for very high wind loadings and is designed to be fixed at maximum span distances for reduced project costs. It has been verified with a full wall assembly test (BS8414) for buildings over 10m tall.

At 2.2mm 6063T5 Aluminium Alloy with a high tensile and rigidity properties, AliClad Max has excellent impact resistance, making it ideal for high-traffic areas such as schools. Improved rigidity over other systems comes from its depth and structure.

The AliClad Max System comes with a full assembly kit. It can interface easily with other façade systems, giving designers flexibility. The design of the system also gives builders the option to install the windows either before or after the cladding goes on.

WEATHER-TIGHTNESS: The system has been designed in line with NZBC Acceptable Solutions. It has been tested to be compliant with E2:VM1 and NZS4284
STRUCTURE: The AliClad Max system is designed for very high wind loadings and engineered to be fixed at maximum span distances for reduced project costs
FIRE PROTECTION: Aluminium is non-combustible under the NZBC and the support system has a limited / non-combustible wall assembly. AliClad Max has been tested for full-scale system fire performance to BS8414
