Cosentino: Leading the Way with Innovative and Sustainable Surfaces for Design and Architecture

When it comes to a space that is both practical and beautiful, the right surfaces are crucial. Floors, walls, cabinetry and furniture need to add to the interior or exterior aesthetic of the project, but also meet the demands of busy households, large amounts of foot traffic and often extreme heat or cold. Cosentino’s Dekton and Silestone surfaces provide such a design solution.

Dekton, which is warranted for 25 years, can be installed for fireplace surrounds, pool tiles, flooring, stairs, wall cladding, as well as kitchen and bathroom surfaces. It can also be used for exterior façades on residential or commercial buildings and comes in large formats to accommodate large applications.

When Annika Rowson of Rowson Kitchens wanted a stylish surface to use throughout a new home, she turned to Dekton’s Opera. The surface, which has a zero carbon footprint throughout its lifetime, was specified for the kitchen’s mitred island, drawer fronts, the scullery, bathroom vanities and an incredible architecturally designed staircase. With its gentle yet elegant grey veining inspired by Italian Carrara marble and its resistance to scratches, stains, fire and heat, it provided both the look and the functionality that Rowson required. Best of all, because Dekton is made from 100% renewable electric energy and 98% recycled water, and is carbon neutral over its life cycle, it made for an environmentally friendly choice.

Silestone is also a great choice for demanding areas of the house. Made from HybriQ+ Technology, it is made with at least 20% recycled materials and 100% renewable energy. It’s a healthier option to work with, featuring a maximum of 50% crystalline silica* content, and it features beautifully for furniture that needs to be highly resistant to impact and scratches. It can be manufactured for tabletops, desks and coffee tables, and because of its low porosity, it is resistant to stains and spills. With recent collections, such as the Mediterranean-inspired Sunlit Days and the sophisticated neutrals of the Ethereal collection, there is a colour to suit any aesthetic or interior palette.
