More than ever, we require our homes, cafes, restaurants, retirement villages, hospitals, schools and clubs to be low maintenance and clean.
How does Ultra-Fresh work?
An Ultra-Fresh antimicrobial treatment will inhibit the growth of bacteria, mould and mildew responsible for creating unpleasant smells, discolouration and product decay. It is applied during the production process and improves the long-term aesthetic and performance of floors in the toughest of environments.
Consider two flooring surfaces, one with and one without an antibacterial coating. In the globally recognised ISO 22196 test, the same amounts of bacteria (E. coli) are added to each floor and then incubated at 37°C for 24 hours.
Afterwards, both surfaces are assessed to determine how many bacteria are remaining. Heavy amounts of bacteria were recovered from the untreated floor. In fact, bacteria grew exponentially from about 50,000 to more than 500,000 in the 24-hour period. The Ultra-Fresh treated floor had 99.9% fewer bacteria after the same period.
Are Antimicrobial Additives Safe?
Ultra-Fresh has passed the most stringent testing procedures for safety and efficacy to meet international regulatory guidelines. Ultra-fresh is US EPA registered, BPR compliant and Oeko-Tex listed ensuring compliance with the regulations of Australasia.
As part of the commitment to producing more environmentally sound anti-microbial treatments, a new generation of cleaner and greener solutions include active ingredients such as zinc and silver. Synergistic combinations of all the ingredients require lower levels of antimicrobial use with improved results.
Ultra-Fresh treatment has been applied to all Strata multi-layer waterproof flooring to ensure it meets the highest standards of cleanliness, is easy to maintain and delivers performance beyond its 15-year warranty for residential flooring or seven-year warranty for commercial flooring.
