Slipping over on surfaces is a major cause of injury, especially on areas that get wet around pools or that aren’t under shelter. In the first 10 months of 2024, ACC claims for falling totalled over $1.8 billion! That’s a lot of skidding, slipping, tripping and falling over. And it’s not just the financial cost, but the huge number of injuries that people all over the country have to recover from.
It’s easy to reduce this risk by using non-slip finishes on foot traffic areas, such as Resene Non-Skid Deck & Path. Or now you can choose to add new Resene Anti-Slip Grip Additive to coatings for a non-slip grip finish inside or out on everything from floors and stairs to decks, paths, steps, patios, balconies and more.
Resene Anti-Slip Grip Additive can be added to a range of decorative and engineered coating topcoats that are available in a wide range of colours, so you don’t have to sacrifice your colour scheme to get this extra safety feature. It can be used in selected clear finishes too, such as Resene Uracryl 404 and Resene Qristal ClearFloor, giving your clients the option of having a non-slip clear finish on foot traffic areas.
Simply add Resene Anti-Slip Grip Additive into the chosen topcoat and mix well. Always make sure your client chooses the right topcoat for their project.
In a two coat system, mix Resene Anti-Slip Grip Additive with the topcoat and use that as the first coat, then follow with a coat of the unmodified topcoat. This will help to balance the non-skid safety finish with a surface that is easier to clean than the modified topcoat would be.
