Refurbishment project enhanced with Provista Semi-

As a part of a comprehensive re-clad project, Provista Balustrade Systems installed a Semi-Frameless Glass balustrade to the masonry decks of each of the 21 terraced apartments in a three-block development in East Tamaki, Auckland.

The apartment blocks at 175 Harris Road now feature a modern exterior combining low maintenance materials with clean lines and complementary colour combinations. The balustrade features a matt Ironsand powder coat finish in keeping with the joinery and roofing colour schemes.

Having used Provista solutions in previous projects, Veron Building Consultants, who designed the facelift and alteration work, specified Provista’s Panorama Semi-frameless solution to provide a stylish balustrade to the second level of each apartment. In keeping with the design of the building, the solution also features a ‘Retro’ rectangular handrail profile. Provista’s three-way post profile has been utilised offering completely hidden fixings for a very clean and lineal result. The glass utilised is Metro Performance Glass 10mm Toughened Safety Glass.

Provista Semi-frameless solutions are very adaptable to different building types, looking great on modern or classical structures and, in this case, have provided a practical and modern solution that complements the design and look of the apartments.

Form Building and Developments undertook the re-clad project and worked closely with the Provista team during the balustrade installation. Matt Dolan, Quantity Surveyor at Form concludes, “The balustrade looks great and the Provista team were very easy to deal with. The whole process was hassle-free”.

Provista Balustrade Systems Semi-frameless balustrade systems feature modern aluminium post and handrail profile designs suiting both classic and contemporary building design.

Provista Semi-frameless solutions are designed to comply with A, B, E and C3 loadings for residential and commercial occupancy types and are suitable for decks, balconies, stairways, pool fences and gates.
Suitable building structures can be timber, concrete, steel and typical combinations of each. Provista Semi-frameless solutions can also be used in conjunction with the Provista Gutter Bracket – a robust stainless steel product designed to be specified where membrane decks and gutters are required.
A rectangular ("Retro") handrail and rounded ("Euro") handrail options are available or a stainless interlinking rail could be used if required, affixed directly to the top edge of the glass. The Provista Semi-frameless solutions can include a glass infill panel, or euro Slat screening, or combination of both.
