Mammoth Releases New Friction-Fit Underfloor Product

With the H1 standard having been updated, the goal for residential and commercial buildings was to have reduced energy consumption, for heating and cooling. We have seen a large number of enquiries for higher performing insulation. When it comes to timber subfloors, this is an obvious place where it is easy and economical to install higher performing insulation. This not only gives you a better performing subfloor but greater design flexibility when using the calculation or modelling methods to show compliance.

The new Mammoth R3.4 140mm Friction Fit underfloor is easy to install. It can be dropped in from above or installed from below by way of friction fitting. This means no mechanical fixings like staples or strapping are required. The product is available in four different widths to fit typical joist spacings (joists of 400, 450, 500 and 600mm), and alternatively can easily be cut when required. Mammoth polyester insulation is New Zealand made, it is unaffected by moisture, and made from recycled PET fibres. Mammoth products are 100% recyclable, offcuts can be returned to Mammoth to be recycled as part of their take back recycling scheme. You don't have to throw insulation waste into the skip.

The Mammoth Friction Fit Underfloor product range is available to suit all joist spacings mentioned above. (Product widths of 370, 425, 475 and 580mm are available in all of the below):

  • Mammoth R1.9 90mm Friction Fit
  • Mammoth R2.8 140mm Friction Fit
  • Mammoth R3.4 140mm Friction Fit
  • Mammoth R3.8 180mm Friction Fit double layer (R1.9 x 2)
