This exceptional home features both kitchen and bathroom spaces enhanced by Staron Solid Surfaces. In the kitchen, Staron’s Sanded Mint brings a refreshing touch, perfectly complementing a carefully curated palette of colours. This colourful joinery is nestled within warm timber surrounds. This design captures the playful potential of colour and form, with geometric shapes that flow seamlessly to the home’s exterior. Daytime lighting creates a soft, inviting look, while evening illumination brings a more dramatic effect to the kitchen.
This designer’s own home was crafted to embody the owner's personalities and tastes, purposefully avoiding influence from current design and architectural trends. The brief called for a focus on available materials that could help create an authentically unique space. The freshness of Staron Sanded Mint continues to shine within one of the bathrooms, while Staron California Poppy offers a bold, vibrant theme to another bathroom, creating a dynamic touch to the vanity and mirror. Moving beyond the traditional lines and tones often seen in bathrooms, the design showcases the playful creativity of the designer, capturing a fresh, nonconformist aesthetic. With this mass timber construction, the oblique angles and offset geometry provide the dwelling with a unique style that lends itself to the windswept coastal location.
The designer emphasises that Staron brings freedom to the creative process, unrestricted by standard geometric limitations often found with other products. Its colour range, durability, and ease of maintenance made Staron an ideal choice for these distinctive spaces.
This home’s mass timber construction, with its oblique angles and offset geometry, adds a distinct character and echoes the coastal surroundings. The project, certified as a Passivhaus, embodies low-environmental-impact building principles, resulting in a sustainable space that prioritises the health and comfort of its occupants.
