A leading world trade fair for furniture production and interior design, Interzum demonstrates that outstanding innovations in furniture production and interior construction are constantly being developed. This year the trade fair examined global trends such as sustainability, digitalisation and mobility. Internationally, transparency and the combination of glass and wood is an absolute trend with glass allowing for delicate design.
Hettich embraced these trends with a goal to provide a furniture piece for living and dining. Core drivers included more space, more convenience and more design.
Hettich used the Slideline M to move the central glass display unit along the wall-fixed cabinet. Fittings discreetly blend into the look of the furniture, upholding an on-trend, high-quality furniture design. Using a Sensys hinge with a special cup and mounting plate, adhesion is on the glass door. Without needing to drill or rout the glass, it allows for broad design flexibility.
Sensys provides gentle closing as a result of excellent Silent System performance and reliable closing from standard 110° or wide 165° automatic closing angle. Also the adjustment range of +/- 3mm for evening out production and installation tolerances is particularly important with easily damaged glass doors. The adhesive solutions for Sensys hinges were introduced at Interzum 2017.
The high functionality of the Slideline M literally slides furniture between living and dining room as a linking element. As the carcass moves from left to right smoothly and quietly it reveals display compartments and their contents.
A lighted display cabinet gives the room a new feel — and it's a real eye-catcher. The horizontal carcass is impressive and so easy to move. The stylish combination of materials with glass, matt black and metallic looks offer a striking contrast.
High functioning and discreet fittings like the Sensys hinge horizontally orientated adhesive mounting plate and Slideline M can turn designers' inspiration into a reality.
