Edendale School is a public primary school located in the heart of Auckland’s suburb of Sandringham. Their vision is to empower students to be confident, creative, open-minded contributors to our community.
Edendale’s focus on innovation and commitment to equipping students with the ability to think about problems critically and creatively led them to the Dyson product range. The Dyson ethos of solving problems that others choose to ignore is embodied in Edendale School’s core values.
Edendale Primary chose to install Dyson’s Airblade hand dryers in the washrooms to ensure that students have access to a high-quality method of hand drying in a fast timeframe. This helps students dry their hands with HEPA purified air in as little as 12 seconds.
The school, like most sites, has a focus on cost savings and reducing environmental impact. By choosing Dyson, they have ensured that their carbon emissions are extremely low, and costs are kept to a minimum ($31 per year to run each unit). The product has a long lifespan and proves resilient, even with a significant number of uses each day.
Alongside the Dyson hand dryers, Edendale Primary has also made the decision to put a Dyson Purifier in each classroom. They have a focus on improving air quality for students and the Dyson Purifiers help with this by capturing 99.95% of particles as small as 0.1 microns (bacteria and viruses). This provides a hospital grade, H13, HEPA purifier in each room, contributing to the school’s commitment to a healthy environment for learning.
"We made the decision to purchase Dyson products because of the quality of operation and design," says Jonathan Ramsay, Principal / Tumuaki, Edendale Primary. "The products have been well used in the classrooms and toilets and have stood up well to primary aged students."
