There are a multitude of environmental factors that a façade needs to withstand: weather, water, noise pollution and fire to name just a few. Dekton by Cosentino, an ultracompact porcelain surface available in more than 50 colours, is designed with this in mind and provides durability, quality and long-lasting beauty to the exteriors of buildings.
With a density equivalent to granite, Dekton is a perfect addition to building envelope elements that need to provide weather resistance and thermal, acoustic and fire resisting properties. It is resistant to scratches and abrasion, withstands humidity, rain, and frost, and helps with absorption of external noise. With its low porosity levels, it is colour stable to UV radiation. And it comes with a 25-year warranty.
Made from 20 different minerals, Dekton has a lower silica content than many other commonly used products, including sandstone, concrete, tiles, granite, quartzite, slate and bricks. It is 100% carbon neutral, with all carbon emissions over the product life cycle offset by promoting biodiversity and restoring the natural environment. Manufactured in Spain, at Cosentino’s Almeria factory, it is made with 100% renewable energy drawn from Cosentino’s solar farm and with 100% recycled and reused water. And it has Zero Waste certification, which guarantees the recovery of more than 90% of the waste generated in the production process.
Big format slabs, available in 4, 8, 12 and 20mm thicknesses, make it a perfect surface for all sorts of façades and for the construction of curtain walls. And any architectural specification can be supported, thanks to Cosentino’s personalised service on projects, from conception to completion.
And for a cohesive design, Dekton can also be specified for exterior flooring, pool surrounds or paving.
