Connecting Interior Design to Nature with Organoid Natural Surfaces

Choosing Organoid surfaces is more than a design decision, it’s about making eco-conscious choices that align with the growing movement towards sustainable living. Organoid natural surfaces represent the future of sustainable design. Not only does Organoid contribute to a healthier planet but also creates environments that will have a lasting positive impact on wellbeing.

With sustainability at its core Organoid surfaces are 100% carbon neutral, reflecting a deep commitment to protecting the planet. Each surface is handmade in the heart of Tyrol, Austria, using sustainable practices that prioritise the environment.

The production process is as eco-friendly as the final product. Organoid uses rapidly renewable raw materials and recycles waste products, all sourced locally. This local and ethical production not only reduces the carbon footprint but also supports the local economy and promotes a sense of community.

The natural surfaces can be adhered to interior walls, joinery, glass, and acoustics, bringing a sense of the outdoors into interior spaces. Made from natural ingredients such as Alpine hay, roses, lavender, moss, spent coffee beans, and beer hops, these materials are applied to natural non-woven flax fleece and FSC-certified paper backings.

Organoid surfaces are hypoallergenic and create a unique atmosphere that blends design with functionality. The natural materials used are carefully selected to ensure that they not only enhance the aesthetics of a space but also improve the overall indoor environment. Organoid Natural Surfaces also store CO2, with one tonne of dried hay storing around 1,500kg of carbon dioxide. Organoid products can therefore not only be described as climate-neutral, but even as climate positive.

Organoid is a certified climate-neutral company, and so are their products. Together with Climate Partner, Organoid monitored the CO2 emissions of their company and drew up a Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF). This includes heating, energy consumption, commuting, business trips and office supplies. Wherever possible, Organoid avoid and reduce these emissions, updating their CCF on a regular basis. All unavoidable CO2 emissions are offset by supporting a climate protection project.
