Woodspan PLT Subfloor panels (parallel laminated timber) are glue laminated, structural mass timber panels suitable for use as subfloor structures in medium density construction such as terraced housing.
Woodspan PLT panels are made from finger-jointed or whole timber boards that are then laminated into large panels. Boards are glued so that the grain runs parallel (in the same direction) to the primary span, creating a strong, structurally efficient panel.
PLT panels are suitable for use as floor and roof structures including diaphragm applications:
Specific design required for fixing capacity where the wind zone is greater than extra high or the ULS is greater than 2.5 kPa
Fastening materials to be in accordance with NZS 3604:2011
Where uses a diaphragm the design of connections to bracing elements is subject to specific design
In applications where NZ Building Code Clause C6 (structural stability) obligations apply, the use of Woodspan PLT Panels is subject to specific design by a fire engineer
Floor loadings up to 3.0kPa — specified fixings to meet floor loadings and floor panel thickness
If designed, installed and maintained in accordance with all Woodspan requirements, Woodspan PLT Panels will comply with or contribute to compliance with the following performance claims:
Woodspan is a New Zealand owned manufacturer and fabricator of PLT mass timber panels and glulam engineered wood products for use in building and construction.
