Description

Delivering all the charm of yesteryear, yet now updated for ease of use in modern applications, Abodo Vulcan Shingles are a durable, high-end architectural finish for roofs, walls and gable ends.

Vulcan Shingles are created using thermally modified eco-timber, resulting in a product combining beauty, durability and stability. The durability of the product is furthered by a low-VOC, water-based OPX preservative treatment that guards against mould and insects.

Vulcan Shingles are detailed with a ventilation cavity system for wall and roof applications to extend the durability of the timber by enabling air flow beneath the shingles to reduce moisture build up. This sets them apart from most standard pine and cedar shingles.

Scope of Use

Intended for above ground use in residential and light commercial buildings for wall cladding, gable ends and roofs
Detailed with a ventilation cavity system for wall and roof applications
Suitable up to and including Extra High wind zones (up to 1.82kps UL)
Buildings within scope of NZS3604
Suitable for buildings <10m height or >1m to boundary (Designs outside this the system are subject to specific fire engineering design.

Must be designed and installed in accordance with the Abodo technical literature
Required roof pitch of greater than 18˚
