With the continued popularity of natural timber cladding, Abodo is pleased to offer their new Vulcan Cladding - Standard Series for architects and builders looking for an attractive light character appearance at an accessible price.
What makes Vulcan Cladding - Standard Series different to the Architectural Series?
The Vulcan Cladding - Standard Series is still made from ethically sourced FSC® certified New Zealand Radiata timber, thermally modified for improved durability, and engineered with a vertical grain — just like the Architectural Series. What makes it different is the grade of timber used.
While the Architectural Series uses a clear grade of timber that allows for limited natural features, the Standard Series uses a light feature grade. This means that some knots, resin pockets and other natural features are present in the cladding, providing a more textured appearance.
In addition, the Standard Series is available in a select design range featuring a single concealed fix 135 x 18mm weatherboard profile — slightly thinner than the 20mm Architectural Series. Boards are available in a Bandsawn finish, in a choice of nine Abodo Protector coating colours.
By using a light feature grade, thinner profile and a narrower finish and coating range, Abodo is able to provide the Vulcan Cladding Standard Series at a more accessible price.
Where can Vulcan Cladding - Standard Series be used?
Just like the Architectural Series, the Vulcan Cladding - Standard Series can be used for vertical or horizontal cladding on timber framed or light steel framed buildings in wind zones up to and including Extra High.
Vulcan Cladding - Standard Series is ideal for projects where a timber cladding with a light natural character look is desired. The more affordable Standard Series makes it a smart choice for standalone homes, baches, townhouses and small low rise commercial buildings where the budget is more limited.
What are the biggest benefits of using Vulcan Cladding - Standard Series?
Timber cladding at an accessible price
The affordability of the Vulcan Cladding - Standard Series makes natural timber cladding more accessible for a broader range of projects.
High performance and CodeMark certified
Vulcan Cladding - Standard Series offers the same trusted performance as Abodo’s original Architectural Series. The timber is thermally modified for improved durability and stability and engineered with a vertical grain for even further stability and weatherability. The cladding is backed by CodeMark certification for added peace of mind.
Attractive character finish
Manufactured with Abodo’s unique vertical grain coupled with its light character appearance, Standard Series is ideal for adding natural timber beauty to exterior facades.
A sustainable, low carbon choice
Vulcan Cladding is made from New Zealand grown, rapidly renewable Radiata from ethically managed FSC® certified forests. Each square metre of 18mm thick Vulcan Cladding - Standard Series stores 7.56kg of carbon. Vulcan Cladding - Standard Series also allows Abodo to maximise their log feedstock by putting a different grade of timber to better use.
