In continuing to live by its mantra of 'absolute risk minimisation', Viking Roofspec is delighted to announce that its double-layer, modified-bitumen, torch-on membrane – Viking Bituclad, has achieved CodeMark certification. Viking Bituclad is now the only torch-on in New Zealand to hold this level of assurance.
CodeMark is a New Zealand and Australian certification scheme, which provides a process for a construction product to be assessed against, to demonstrate its compliance with the requirements of the Building Code.
A CodeMark certified product is automatically compliant with the Building Code by law; provided the product is being used in accordance with the certificate's criteria.
CodeMark is the toughest certificate to get; demonstrating the highest quality of product, supplier and distributor – as it doesn't just certify the product, but uses ISO benchmarks to assess all facets of the supply chain.
CodeMark is classified as 'product certification', which is the pinnacle of 'The New Zealand Product Assurance Framework.'
So what does CodeMark certification mean for Viking Bituclad?
When specifying Viking Bituclad in accordance with the CodeMark certificate’s criteria, compliance for the purpose of building consent is guaranteed.
This is of great benefit to all key stakeholders; especially architects, as it reduces the work-load and potential delays by eliminating Council 'RFI's' (request for more information) when making applications.
No certificate provides more confidence and certainty than CodeMark.
