Tech Coatings' FBL-100 fire proof paint has already been accepted by the industry as a versatile passive fire solution for Timber Penetrations in a 60/60/60 wall, as it is effective, quick and easy to apply and environmentally friendly.
Considering the number of Timber Penetrations Tech Coatings is seeing through a 13mm standard plasterboard wall on middle-sized projects, they wanted to answer the market's need and deliver a system with a more adequate FRR.
Therefore, Tech Coatings now offers a -/30/30 FRR for Timber Penetrations.
This solution not only has all the benefits of the 60/60/60 solution but is, on top, also able to compete with the square metre rate of current solutions.
Furthermore, as Tech Coatings often see vertical webs, which are supposed to be enclosed inside a 30/30/30 wall, left exposed (either proud or recessed) they have incorporated exposed vertical webs into their test setup.
To deliver a tested and endorsed solution Tech Coatings ran a fire test at FTS Laboratory in Auckland in accordance with AS 1530.4:2014.
Tech Coatings tested FBL-100 with a reduced DFT of 500μm using a 13mm standard plasterboard wall constructed to NZS 3604 and lined in accordance with the GIB specification GBTL 30b.
After completing the fire test successfully, Tech Coatings is now able to provide the required FRR of -/30/30 as a tested and endorsed system for Timber Penetrations with either recessed or proud vertical web.
Advantages of the system:
- Competitively priced solution
- Provides necessary Fire Resistance Rating
- Eliminates complex and costly installation procedures
- Saves substantively on time required to install the system
