Transforming a Boathouse into a Functional Family Home with Saniflo

Boathouses offer unique and bespoke design opportunities, and converting this cedar clad building from a boat storage facility into a functional family home came with a slew of challenges. One such challenge for this site was drainage, as it is located 4m below and 65m away from the street sewerage mains.

During the renovation process, subcontractor Jordan Andrews of JA Plant Hire was brought in to deal with the drainage challenge. Jordan had used Sanifos Inground lifting stations before and knew they offered a straightforward and effective solution. A site visit confirmed that a Sanifos 610 would be the ideal size to lift the grey and black waste and discharge the waste into the street sewerage mains.

In opinion of Saniflo this product meets the following provisions of the NZBC:

Clause B2 DURABILITY: Performance B2.3.1 [a] not less than 50 years, and B2.3.1 [b] 15 years, and B2.3.2. The Sanicubic 1 WP meets this requirement
Clause F2 HAZARDOUS BUILDING MATERIALS: Performance F2.3.1. Sanicubic 1 WP meets this requirement and does not present a health hazard to People
Clause G13 FOUL WATER: Performance G13.3.1 and G13.3.2. Sanicubic 1 WP meets these requirements
