Kingspan’s Thermakraft One Wrap System is a ten product integrated pre-cladding wall solution designed to assist with the passive control of air and moisture in buildings constructed in compliance with the New Zealand Building Code (NZBC). The system consists of flexible synthetic wall underlays, tapes, pipe and cable penetration seals, and accessories, which all have been tested and appraised as a system by BRANZ [No. 962].

The One Wrap System provides an exterior envelope solution that when used behind wall claddings will provide a secondary defence against water penetration into wall framing. The combination of products makes the system suitable for timber or steel framing and cladding types, including rigid underlays or rigid air barriers. Using the One Wrap System provides a hassle free, fully warranted system that meets the NZBC for performance and durability.

Having difficulties meeting the new H1 Energy Efficiency requirement?

One way to achieve the new H1 Energy Efficiency requirements is to increase wall frame depth from 90mm to 140mm, to accommodate thicker bulk insulation. However, this adds to construction costs and may reduce building’s usable floor area.

A better and easier way to adapt to H1 is to add a layer of rigid continuous insulation to the exterior of the building envelope, in addition to using bulk insulation within 90mm framing and pre-cladding products mentioned above. This approach will result in R-values that meet or exceed the new H1 requirements.

In new builds, Kingspan Kooltherm K12 Framing Board can be installed to the exterior of the wall frame. With a fibre-free rigid thermoset phenolic core and a thermal conductivity of 0.022-0.023 W/mK, Kooltherm K12 delivers the highest R-value of commonly available insulations and compliant to AS/NZS 4859.1:2018.
