Kingspan's Dri-Design Rainscreen Facade on Waikato Innovation Park

One of the latest projects in New Zealand to showcase Kingspan’s Dri-Design Flat rainscreen cassettes is the new Hub Building, currently under construction at the Waikato Innovation Park in Hamilton.

The patented SuperFast install Dri-Design aluminium cassettes — in ‘Duratec Matt Black’ by Dulux — were chosen for the building designed by Edwards White Architects Ltd for their aesthetic appearance and performance. They have been installed by Project Unite Ltd. on Kingspan’s Karrier panel which allowed the building to be made weathertight before the Dri-Design cassettes were installed.

Kingspan’s Karrier rainscreen substructure is a steel-faced high performance closed cell PIR insulated panel, offering an R-value of 2.65 (50mm panel). Karrier can be installed fast, directly onto the structural frame, resulting in a weather-tight and air-tight building with no aggravated thermal bridging.

Simon Diplock of Foster Construction Ltd. comments, “The system has been great, the Karrier panel was installed quickly and closed the building in, allowing us to continue on with internal works, the Dri-Design is now being installed and looks fantastic, everyone visiting the site comments on it and I look forward to using it on other jobs.”

Featured alongside the Dri-Design rainscreen is Kingspan’s Evolution panelised facade: a highly streamlined, sleek, flat-faced insulated panel system; the perfect solution for designers looking to achieve a minimalist facade on buildings with large, flat surface areas.

The solid aluminium Dri-Design cassettes are available in Flat, Tapered and Shadow options and can be powder coated in a wide range of colours across a range of shapes and sizes, and can also be perforated for a unique look. The cassettes can be mix-and-matched creating eye-catching interesting surface textures and designs.

Kingspan facade products are manufactured in Australia to ISO 9001 standards from the highest quality materials, using state-of-the-art production equipment to rigorous quality control standards, ensuring long term reliability and service life.

Kingspan provides external coating and product guarantees for facade products on an individual project basis. This is typically for 15 years.
