The owner and also the project manager of the property had a very clear idea of what they wanted to achieve. This clarity of vision has enabled this property to be enhanced by the addition of toughened glass balustrades, two louvre roofs and a fence at the entrance to the property.
To ensure nothing detracted from the view, the owner chose Edgetec Double Disc anchor balustrade with toughened safety glass and a slim top rail on the property’s three balconies. The 50mm diameter round, aluminium anchor fixings along with toughened glass panels, provide a clear, minimalistic, uncluttered and stylish finish. The top rail and double discs are powder coated to match the existing joinery.
The two freestanding louvre roofs on the property required no supporting structure for installation allowing the roofs to be set to the best sun orientation to maximise shading during the day or to be completely closed to give full protection from inclement weather and sun. This design ensures that guttering and downpipes are incorporated into the louvre roof and inbuilt LEDs in the support beams provide lighting. The finished result is stunning modern outdoor focal points that have effectively become an extension of the indoor flow.
Juralco Edge Stecca has been used for the boundary fence at the entrance to the property and was suggested by the installer. The customer was convinced by the aesthetic of the panels which is a key feature. The fitted slats on the front of the balustrade support rails (as opposed to inside the rails) have added an extra dimension of depth and interest. The panels have been powder coated to the customer’s requirement.
The result is a successfully completed project that has utilised the stunning location and created a centrepiece outdoor area that can be used year-round along with a sympathetic glass balustrade. The customer is already looking forward to their new project utilising the same products
