Versatility of Triboard Showcased in Multi-Use Carpentry Workshop

With vast experience in the carpentry industry, owners Rob and Andrew Bennie’s new workshop is just down the road from the Juken Triboard factory, thus giving them an experienced understanding of the versatility and quality of Triboard panels, having used the product for decades.

This family team is a hive of activity in an epic rural setting. Rob's son Andrew has been part of the team for 11 years and now runs the Joinery division, along with Andrew’s partner Catherine who has also joined the ranks and is two years into her apprenticeship.

The new workshop has been built to expand the business and employ new staff whilst investing in the far north. All is going to plan, and the specialised team are very busy on multiple residential and commercial renovation and joinery projects.

Rob, Andrew and their team are true advocates of Triboard and will continue to incorporate it in their upcoming designs. The strength, versatility and natural look and feel of Triboard ticks all the boxes for them and the team, making it an easy choice in their designs.

Triboard applications in the Kiwi Carpentry workshop are:

  • Internal linings
  • Work benches (Bench Tops)
  • Mobile workstations
  • Shelving / vertical and horizontal
  • Timber racks
  • Doors (sliding and hung)
  • boxing (36mm Triboard offcuts for concrete boxing)

A recent project completed by Kiwi Carpentry is the temporary Covid centre in Kaitaia. Triboard used in this project will be uninstalled and reused for a new project. Triboard 10mm was perfect for wall partitions with a quick, solid install.

Triboard is a 3-layered panel with a wood strand core sandwiched between an MDF outer “skin”. The result is a clean-lined panel with high resilience, impact resistance, and greater stiffness than similar products. The dimensionally stable core provides superb load-bearing and screw holding, and the MDF surfaces give a smooth finish for painting or overlaying. This innovative combination of smooth surfaces with inner strength makes it ideal for a wide range of internal structural and non-structural applications — panel housing, structural walls, floors, fire-rated doors and inter-tenancy walls, solid core doors, bracing panels, benchtops and shelving. Triboard is available in a variety of panel sizes, thicknesses and densities.
