Meeting the Complexities of Fire Compliance using RAB Board

To assist with new regulation C/AS2 and to prove compliance with it, James Hardie completed the full scale fire testing using RAB Board over timber frame. RAB Board has passed the requirements of this new regulation and the BRANZ appraisal has been updated to confirm its suitability to comply with Clause C3.5 and C3.7 of NZBC.

Complementing this fire performance, RAB Board 6mm and 9mm thick sheets also offer options to create strong shear resisting walls. A recent assessment by BRANZ has confirmed these sheets are suitable to withstand seismic structural deflections up to span/180 experienced in Specific Engineered Design (SED) buildings up to 25m in height. This means RAB Board will not leak air or moisture when a building undergoes these SLS deflections due to seismic ground movements. This offers huge peace of mind when working on SED building projects.
