Futurewood composite decking is a low maintenance composite decking that comes prefinished in a range of designer colours. Homeowners can install it themselves for extra savings, or enlist one of Futurewood's experienced builders to do the job.
Here is what Futurewood's client, Damian Cooper, had to say about using Futurewood in his new outdoor area:
“With great hillside views and large glass openings, we needed a deck to match. At around 140m² we also need to make sure it was a great feature to complement the newly renovated back of the house. We wanted to find a way of minimising the time and cost spent maintaining the surface. It made complete sense to use a recycled product that also had properties aimed at reducing maintenance issues.
The fixing system is easy but was made even more so by the comprehensive briefing by Rees (Futurewood Sales Specialist), who invested time to make sure I had the best chance of success. We discussed the niggly areas such as downpipes, interfaces, pool areas and steps. Armed with my notes I set to work with my three sons ages 13, 11 and 10.
Once the first board was set up square everything flowed easily from this. It got so easy that I had the boys set the boards up with the clips and then I screwed them down as they pushed them in place. It was quite a production line.
It took five days for us to get all the boards down and then another two days to do the steps — although each day was about three hours long!
Futurewood is easy to cut and plane but it is a bit heavier than wood. This makes fixing 5.4m lengths to vertical surfaces a little more challenging but worth the effort.
I am delighted we chose Futurewood and feel good that it is made from recycled products. Less maintenance is important too.
I would recommend Futurewood, and have done so already, to anyone planning to put a deck down, or even redo an existing failed deck."
