PaneLux Solid Aluminium Panel
Description

PaneLux is a 3mm solid aluminium panel system used for architectural cladding and decorative applications. 

With BRANZ fire testing and NZ facade testing, PaneLux is suitable for both exterior façades and interior linings in commercial, residential, and industrial settings. 

Made from 3003 H24 aluminium alloy and pre-coated with a PVDF paint system, it is manufactured using a continuous roll-to-roll coating process for high colour consistency and surface quality.

Panelux is available in a wide range of colours and finishes, with standard panel sizes:

  • 1550 x 3200mm 
  • 1550 x 4000mm

Scope of Use
  • Suitable for use as exterior wall cladding and interior linings
  • Ideal for recladding and new builds across commercial, residential, and industrial sectors
  • Applicable for façades of high-rise buildings, shopping centres, car parks, and signage
  • Complies with NZBC C3.7 for use where fire performance is required
  • Panels may be formed or fabricated as required for project-specific design
  • Recommended for areas requiring high durability and low maintenance
Limitations on Use
  • Not suitable for continuous water immersion or ponding water exposure
  • Colour variation may occur between batches — all panels in a project must be from the same batch
  • Protective film must be removed within 45 days of installation
  • Must be installed with attention to direction markings to ensure uniform appearance
  • Embossed panels installed more than 46° from vertical are not covered under fade and chalk warranty
Statement of Building Code Compliance

PaneLux, if designed, used, installed, and maintained in accordance with the conditions of Mulford Plastics NZ technical documentation, will comply with or contribute to compliance with the following performance provisions of the New Zealand Building Code:

  • Clause B1 STRUCTURE: Performance B1.3.1, B1.3.2, B1.3.3 (a, h)
  • Clause B2 DURABILITY: Performance B2.3.1 (b)
  • Clause C3 FIRE AFFECTING AREAS BEYOND THE FIRE SOURCE: Performance C3.7
  • Clause E2 EXTERNAL MOISTURE: Performance E2.3.2
  • Clause F2 HAZARDOUS BUILDING MATERIALS: Performance F2.3.1

PaneLux has been in use in New Zealand since 2021.

  • Tested by BRANZ to ISO 5660-1:2002
  • Meets NZBC C/AS2 Appendix C C7.1 requirements for Type A and B classifications

Mechanical & Technical:

  • Tensile strength: 145–195 MPa
  • Heat deflection temperature: 85°C
  • Temperature resistance: –50°C to +80°C
  • Elongation after fracture: 5%

Corrosion & Chemical Resistance:

  • Excellent resistance to acid, alkali, salt spray, and solvents
  • Humidity resistance: 3000 hours at 96% RH, 47°C
  • Abrasion and impact resistant

Warranty:

When installed in accordance with specifications.
