CAHV — 40kW Hot Water Heat Pump for Commercial Hydronic Space Heating
Description

The 40kW EcodanPro CAHV is a monobloc all in one heat pump (water and electric connections only) for the production of space heating hot water, providing a low carbon alternative to gas boilers or direct electric systems in commercial facilities.

With the ability to reach temperatures of 24-70°C, the CAHV paired with radiators and/or underfloor heating systems can provide reliable space heating for many commercial applications such as schools, accommodation facilities, office buildings and healthcare providers.

The CAHV utilises R454C as its refrigerant, achieving a low Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 148. This makes it a good choice for clients with sustainability goals for their building and with all refrigerant contained within the unit itself, eliminates the risk of refrigerant leaking into occupied spaces.

The modular design allows up to 16 units to be connected together for a total heating capacity of up to 640kW, this provides a scalable solution to meet the diverse needs of various commercial applications such as schools, accommodation facilities, office buildings and healthcare providers.

Key Features
  • Utilises R454C refrigerant with Global Warming Potential of 148 and zero Ozone Depletion Potential
  • High low temperature seasonal efficiency (approx. 357%)*
  • Supplies hot water from 24-70°C
  • Operates at outdoor temperatures down to -25°C
  • Compact dimensions, minimising plant space
  • Runs on electricity only and does not produce any toxic substances such as NOx
  • Connect up to 16 units to provide capacity range from 40kW to 640kW
  • Inverter control matches compressor output with almost any load requirement to improve efficiency
  • Low sound pressure level of 64dB(A)**
  • Full documentation available including specifications and CAD drawings available upon request

*Under normal heating conditions at the outdoor temperature of 7°CDB/6°CWB, the outlet water temperature of 45°C, and the inlet water temperature of 40°C.

**The sound pressure level is a value measured in an anechoic room in accordance with the conventional method in JRA 4060.

Scope of Use
  • The CAHV is designed to provide space heating hot water
  • With 40kW of heating capacity, the CAHV can be paired with radiators and/or underfloor heating systems and provides reliable space heating for many commercial applications such as schools, accommodation facilities, office buildings and healthcare providers
  • The CAHV is able to provide its full heating capacity of 40kW even at ambient temperatures as low as -20°C
Limitations on Use
  • As the CAHV has been designed for space heating applications, it is not suitable for potable hot water applications
  • Please refer to the Mitsubishi Electric QAHV CO2 Hot Water Heat Pump for applications requiring potable hot water or contact Mitsubishi Electric for more solutions

Statement of Building Code Compliance
  • Complies with NZ Building Code section G12 (Water Supplies)
