Group 1-S is the best fire rating a system can achieve. It means that flashover, when a small room fire moves to a large room fire, has not occurred for a minimum of 20 minutes. In addition the smoke generated is less than a maximum specified.
Substrates that meet Group 1-S include, paper-faced plasterboard (GIB), cement sheet, concrete, steel, glass, and other non-combustible building materials.
A very popular system that meets Group 1-S is a paper-faced plasterboard coated with Dulux 1 Step Acrylic Primer Sealer Undercoat followed by two coats of the all new Dulux Wash & Wear.
Dulux are very proud to announce the launch of a step-change development in the Dulux Wash & Wear product range. The new formulations are innovative and show fantastic leaps in washability and coverage, coupled with a smooth appearance, and are available in a full range of sheen levels and bases. The new matt sheen level achieves the washability of traditional low sheens at a lower gloss level, leading to a superior appearance on even less than perfectly prepared walls.
In addition, we have launched Wash & Wear Super Tough, an easy to use two-pack product with significantly improved toughness over standard wall paints (over 2000 scrubs) and Wash & Wear Super Hide with increased coverage so that even dark colours can be obliterated in two coats.
The entire Dulux Wash & Wear family achieve a Group 1-S rating on paper-faced plasterboard so can be confidently specified in all commercial buildings of any end use.
