Dulux's Most Environmentally-Friendly Paints Backed by Global GreenTag and Eco Choice Aotearoa

Two key Dulux products are leading the way in sustainability. Dulux UltraAir and Dulux envirO₂ are ideal for environment-friendly interiors due to their low volumes of volatile organic compounds.

The Dulux UltraAir range is the perfect paint choice if you’re looking for ultra-low chemical emissions and odour paint to help you maintain indoor air quality and get back into the room sooner.

Dulux envirO₂ delivers a premium quality, durable and washable finish, with independent third-party certifications from leading environmental programmes. So you can have confidence in Dulux envirO₂ as a better choice for your interior and the environment.

Dulux Paints are recognised by leading global and local eco-labels which demonstrate the sustainability of their products:

Global GreenTag

Global GreenTag is a third-party eco-labelling scheme that uses the principles of the United Nation’s sustainability goals to assess a company’s finished products and how they are made. Dulux UltraAir, and Dulux envirO₂ are some of the first paints in Australia and New Zealand to be independently certified by Global GreenTag, one of the world’s most robust eco-labels.

Eco Choice Aotearoa

Eco Choice Aotearoa (formerly Environmental Choice New Zealand) is the official environmental label of New Zealand. It is the only Type 1 eco label in the country. At the foundation of Environmental Choice are the technical specifications it develops, setting the most stringent, up-to-date standards for environmental compliance in business. In 2022 alone, Dulux added six new products to the certification. A complete list of approved products can be found here

Sustainability meets quality

Of course, in a more sustainable world, quality should not need to be compromised. Dulux paints are not only backed by sustainable accreditations but also hold BRANZ appraisals and ISO certifications to give specifiers peace of mind that they are choosing a trusted product that meets the requirements of the NZBC.

BRANZ Appraisals

A BRANZ Appraisal is a robust, in-depth, and independent evaluation of a building product or system to assess whether it is fit for purpose and meets Building Code performance requirements. A list of BRANZ-appraised Dulux Group products is available here.

ISO 9001

Designed to be a powerful business improvement tool, ISO 9001 Quality Management certification helps improve, streamline operations, and reduce costs. Dulux was an early adopter and has held accreditation continuously for over 30 years.

ISO 14001

Dulux is also ISO 14001 certified, which sets out the criteria for an environmental management system. It maps out a framework that a company or organisation can follow to set up an effective environmental management system. Dulux was the first paint manufacturer in the Southern hemisphere to be granted this accreditation.
