Dulux is committed to reducing its impact on the environment. The Dulux Envirosolutions range provides designers with responsible solutions when it comes to paint clean-up. Paint washings should never be poured down drains and solid paint waste must be disposed of in accordance with local council and water authorities.
The Dulux Envirosolutions Envirowash System is a water-based treatment system that turns paint wash-out into treated water and solid waste, allowing easier and safer disposal. It provides a responsible way of washing out painting tools, such as brushes and rollers, and minimises the negative impact of traditional paint waste disposal methods. The Envirowash System can be specified under ‘general matters related to painting work’ as a responsible method for reducing construction waste.
The range also includes Dulux Envirosolutions Waste Paint Hardener that turns unwanted water-based paints and water-based timber coatings into solid waste for responsible disposal. This allows painters the opportunity to remove paint from the paint container, ensuring the container is paint-free and can be easily disposed of in recycled waste.
Alternatively, Dulux offers a Paint Take-Back Service as part of their commitment to the environment. Dulux Trade Centres will recycle, reuse or dispose of unwanted paint in an environmentally friendly manner.
Water-based paints may be donated to community groups for graffiti abatement or used for other end use applications. Accepted solvent-based paints are sent for solvent recovery and/or responsible disposal and packaging is recycled.
