Barricade Building Wrap is a hydrophobic non-woven fabric that has a unique clear breathable overlay, which allows moisture and condensation to run off the face and then evaporate in the cavity area.

It is designed for Extra High building wind zones of 51-55 m/s when used as an overlay for rigid building underlays, and is suitable for Very High wind zones of 45-50 m/s when used as a stand-alone flexible building underlay.

Construction Manager David Morgan used Barricade Building Wrap on a project located on a ten-acre block in Eyrewall, near Christchurch – a site particularly exposed to weather extremes.

"The wrap performed extremely well under the severe conditions," says Morgan. "Strong north-westerly winds battered the dwelling and despite the high winds the wrap was neither torn or dislodged from the framing. Following high winds there have been brief periods of precipitation, and no rain penetrated the wrap," adds Morgan.

Derek Dunn, a building contractor, has also used the wrap and said "It is a very easy product to work with, even cutting and installing it in windy conditions.

"We installed the wrap to a house as the fabric held perfectly with only initial stapling, with no tearing from the wind at all," he added.
