Sustainability and environmental features of building products have become important considerations when speccing a project. Corian Solid Surface has received important independent certifications for environmental performance including GreenGuard Gold, Red List Free, and NSF Certification. Corian Solid Surface also contains up to 20% recycled content and is silica free.

Non-toxic, non-carcinogenic, and chemically non-reactive, Corian does not decompose over time or contaminate ground or water resources, so it does not affect nearby vegetation when it is discarded in a landfill.

Easy-to-clean, low VOC emission surfaces

Corian Solid Surface is non-porous and does not promote the growth of mould (verified Mold Resistant per UL 2824) and mildew when properly cleaned, making it an ideal choice for schools and food preparation facilities.

Corian Solid Surface meets or exceeds current emissions guidelines* for volatile organic compounds (VOCs), hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) and are GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified.

Red List Free

Living Building Challenge (LBC) Red List Free certifies that Corian Solid Surface product ingredients and residuals do not contain any Red List chemicals.

Recycled content

Corian Solid Surface pre-consumer waste is recycled into new products, eliminating landfill since 2011. A selection of Corian colours contain recycled material and are certified by Scientific Certification Systems (SCS). Antarctica and Dove contain 6% recycled content, Basalt Terrazzo and Domino Terazzo contain 13% recycled content and Pebble Terazzo, Silver Birch and White Jasmin contain 20% recycled content.

Quartz and crystalline silica free

Corian Solid Surface is made from 2/3rds natural minerals (bauxite) and 1/3 acrylic binder. Corian Solid Surface is 100% Quartz and Silica Free, meaning it can be safely cut on site if required and installed with seamless joins.

Upcycle, repair or renew

Corian Solid Surface can easily be repaired or renewed. However, should you want to redesign, Corian Solid Surface can easily be reworked or adapted to a new worktop layout or repurposed into new products. Offcuts are increasingly being made into bespoke items such as platters and bowls.
