Concrete Block Construction
Description

The StoArmat Miral Render System provides protection, system reliability and finish for concrete block construction. The concrete blocks are base coated and levelled with StoLevel Novo. Followed by the Application of StoArmat render and glass fibre mesh providing engineered reinforcement. The façade is then finished with Stolit finishing render plus a Sto Coating of choice.

Installations are carried out by a Sto Registered Contractor (Licensed Building Practitioner) with the added protection of a 15 or 20 year Sto System Warranty, renewable Workmanship Warranty plus StoService Assurance.

Scope of Use

The StoArmat Miral Plaster System on Concrete Block has been appraised as solid plaster systems for buildings within the following scope:

  • Up to 3 storeys, with a maximum height from ground to eaves of 10m
  • For Supporting structures designed and constructed in accordance with the NZBC
  • Suitable for use in all Wind Zones of NZS 3604 up to, and including, 'Extra High'

The StoArmat Miral Plaster System has also been appraised for bond, durability and weather tightness.

Limitations on Use

Must only be applied on vertical surfaces except for sills, concrete reinforced parapets and concrete reinforced balustrades. For use with aluminium window and door joinery that is installed with vertical jambs and horizontal heads and sills.

Installed by a Sto Registered Contractor (Licensed Building Practitioner).

Statement of Building Code Compliance

The product will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:

  • Clause B2 Durability: Performance B2.3.1(b), B2.3.1(c)
  • Clause E2 External moisture: Performance E2.3.2
  • Clause F2 Hazardous building materials: Performance F2.3.1

Notes: The StoArmat Miral Plaster Systems meet the performance requirements of NZBC Clause B2.3.1 (b), 15 years for the plaster finishes, and the performance requirements of NZBC Clause B2.3.1 (c), 5 years for the exterior paint system.
