Viking Warm Roof Controls Climate at Christchurch Botanic Gardens

A VWRS includes rigid insulation panels on top of which a waterproofing membrane is adhered.  It is designed to be installed on top of the substrate, insulating the building from the exterior.

A VWRS achieves the highest fire performance rating (Group 1-S) and its superior thermal performance helps a building earn Green Star points.

With the dew point on the outside of the building, the interior doesn’t "sweat". Furthermore the ceiling cavity is clear for wiring and energy savings are achieved through the reduction in heating and air conditioning requirements.  Mechanical fasteners are not required meaning thermal bridging is minimised. In addition, the rigid insulation sheets (manufactured by Kingspan) also offer dimensional stability.

A VWRS can be specified with confidence for a range of commercial and residential designs.  It’s BRANZ appraised, includes a 20 year warranty and specifications are available on Masterspec.  A VWRS is also a practical solution for overlaying over an existing roof that is facing weather-tightness issues.
