Native to New Zealand, Southland Maple beech is a quality hardwood timber that is immersed in environmental and cultural integrity. Southland Maple Beech is New Zealand’s only FSC certified native timber. Southland Maple Beech is a source of architectural inspiration for projects wishing to claim authenticity and create culturally sensitive, iconic residential and commercial buildings.
Timberline’s Southland Maple Beech supply is from a second crop rotation forest in Southland New Zealand. The timber has a consistent light colour, similar in appearance to American Maple. Southland Maple Beech is a dimensionally stable timber that machines well, and is well suited and widely used for appearance grade applications such as interior panelling, screening, ceiling linings, flooring, skirting, architraves, handrails, feature posts and beams, staircase’s, furniture, feature joinery and cabinetry.
Southland Maple Beech Ceiling and Wall Lining can be supplied in a variety of profiles and sizes to suit everything from contemporary to rustic designs. This species can be installed in traditional T&G profiles, as battens or as sawn/textured boards depending on the desired look and project requirements. Installation can be by way of hidden fixings or face fixings.
In all cases, Timberline specialises in bespoke applications. All profiles, sizes and finishes of the Southland Maple Beech can be customised to suit individual product requirements.
