Supplied in New Zealand by Thermakraft Limited, Thermathene Orange is an ultra-high-strength concrete underlay made from a puncture and tear resistant polyethylene film. Now backed by a BRANZ appraisal, Thermathene Orange is an easy choice for use as a damp-proof membrane separating the concrete slab from ground soil.
An acceptable solution as per NZBC requirements, the high-strength Thermathene Orange underlay acts as a vapour barrier to stop ground moisture penetrating concrete. Thermathene Orange may also be used under suspended subfloors as ground protection from rising damp. Available in a handy 100m roll, Thermathene Orange must be sealed with Thermakraft White General Purpose tape at lap joints to form a complete vapour barrier.
Thicker and Stronger
At 300um thick, Thermathene Orange is thicker and stronger than conventional polythene, ensuring exceptional resistance to moisture, punctures and tears.
UV Resistant
Thermathene Orange can be exposed to UV for up to 1 month — a safeguard for any construction delays.
BRANZ Appraised
The new BRANZ appraisal gives designers peace of mind that Thermathene Orange will meet or contribute to the following provisions of the NZBC when used and installed as a damp-proof membrane:
- Clause B2 Durability: Performance B2.3.1 (a), 50 years
- Clause E2 External Moisture: Performance E2.3.3
- Clause F2 Hazardous Materials: Performance F2.3.1
