An exciting new Italian collection has recently arrived at the Tile Depot. Ceppo Di Gres was ordered at the Cersaie 22 International Tile fair and is a large format 600 x 1200mm, full-bodied porcelain, that replicates a naturally occurring grey terrazzo known as Ceppo di Gre, otherwise known as Gods Terrazzo.
The natural dolomitic stone is only found in the Lombardy region of Italy and is composed of broken fragments of minerals cemented together by a fine-grained matrix, affording the stone a conglomerate, terrazzo-like appearance. The word Ceppo in fact means “rock with pebbles”.
The Ceppo Di Gres porcelain interpretation re-creates this stone, in a sustainable and affordable design, allowing homeowners and designers to utilise this naturally rare aesthetic. Its large 600 x 1200mm format is a beautiful size to really showcase the terrazzo design with minimal grout interruptions.
Being made of porcelain also allows for new colours to be created which the Ceppo Di Gres collection does, offering four colourways including a unique green design called Ceppo Verde, two beautiful light warm designs: Ceppo Sabbia and Ceppo Avorio, and a darker more dramatic Ceppo Nero.
Ceppo Di Gres is a stunning collection that draws upon the sophisticated charisma of the naturally occurring terrazzo, bringing this beautiful rare stone aesthetic to interior floors and walls and is a wonderful addition to the Tile Depot’s stocked porcelain terrazzo collections.
