When thinking about ceiling tiles the words utilitarian and repetitive are often what first come to mind. This is a fair point as they are used where functionality is key. However, this doesn’t always have to be the case.
T&R Interior Systems provide a range of acoustic ceiling tiles, and their bespoke offerings are something they pride ourselves on doing right. Most tiles in the T&R acoustic range come in a variety of colours but can also be Ink-Jet printed with patterns to match interior styling.
Patterns can replicate the realistic texture and appearance of wood, metal, sky, and various other looks limited only by your imagination. Ink-Jet printing does not affect the acoustic quality of the ceiling tile.
One example of this can be seen at Starship Hospital’s Paediatric Intensive Care Unit. The brief for the health design team at Chow:Hill was to ensure the unit was effectively functional but also invoked a sense of calm and comfort for patients, those being children under 16 years old. Phonic Combo + Ceiling Tile provided the functionality of quality acoustics but also an escape into nature. Utilising the customisable option the design team hired a photographer to capture images of the New Zealand Forest canopy. These images were then Ink-Jet printed onto the ceiling tile. This allows patients to look up at the ceiling and hopefully experience comfort, especially when they are in a vulnerable state.
For a simple yet impactful choice, the team at Element 17 also opted for Ink-Jet printing for Lone Star Rolleston. Phonic Absorb Ceiling Tiles were printed to have a denim look on the tile face, helping achieve that Western theme that Lone Star is so well known for.
T&R Interior Systems value both creativity and functionality. Specifying ceiling tiles with Ink-Jet printing is an effective way to add interest and excitement to your suspended ceiling.
