Previously, a 190mm rafter was necessary to achieve the mandatory 25mm air gap between the roofing underlay and Bradford’s previous 130mm blanket. Insulation thickness within skillion roof design has long been an ongoing issue for specifiers.
Bradford’s 115mm thick insulation can be used without alteration to the rafters or roof cavity. This not only provides architects with more design flexibility, but also saves money on the cost of unnecessary timber.
This is a better design solution for architects. The R2.9 rating exceeds the standard required for H1 compliance for zones 1 and 2 in New Zealand*.
Bradford also has a R3.2 blanket at 145mm, and is introducing a R3.6 blanket at 165mm, suitable for 190mm rafter constructions, thereby offering a complete solution for skillion roof constructions.
Bradford’s new skillion roof blanket range is produced using the very successful Arlanda fibre, which gives the product an unprecedented softness designed to reduce irritation during handling.
Both the R2.9 and the R3.6 skillion roof blankets are now available as part of the range. View a Bradford skillion roof blanket datasheet.
