With a large swimming pool, hot tub and shaded alfresco area, this outdoor living area is the perfect space for bringing friends and family together. The only downside for the homeowners — until recently, was having wet and muddy feet traipsing into the house after a splash in the pool.
To resolve this, they wanted to convert the old garden shed in the back of the house into a changing and powder room. The only problem? There was no access to nearby drainage, meaning they would have to pay over $20,000 for excavation and installation of drainage to make it work.
Not giving up, the homeowners sought a second opinion from their plumber who recommended Saniflo as a smart and much more affordable option.
“My plumber advised that Saniflo offered a cost-effective solution which did not require any excavation," explains homeowner, Alex Breingan. "I was thrilled to hear that the changing and powder room was back on the agenda and achievable at a fraction of the cost.”
After discussion with the knowledgeable Saniflo team, a Saniaccess 2 was specified for the project — a compact, quiet pump that offers easy access for maintenance, without the need to dissassemble the device or empty the tank.
The discreet Saniaccess 2 pump was installed behind wall studs to ensure a sleek finish and maximise space within the new powder room. The pump connects a toilet and vanity basin, which pushes the waste out to a 20mm pipe that runs along the outside fence and connects to the main sewage.
The clients were over the moon with the end result which has really maximised use of their outdoor space.
“Without Saniflo, we were not able to achieve the outdoor changing and powder room as it would have been too expensive," says Alex. "The space was used all summer long and kept the dirt outside the house!”
