Composite decking (sometimes called wood-plastic composite, or WPC) is an eco-friendly alternative to traditional timber decking. Resortdeck has an outer shell that provides added protection against the elements and everyday living. It is an important distinction to note, as earlier generations of composite decking were uncapped.
As a result of being uncapped, they were more vulnerable to staining and fading. The capped outer shell is co-extruded ensuring that it is bonded to the core during the manufacturing process. Special UV inhibitors and a careful blend of colour added at just the right time, gives it unique multi-chromatic streaking. This co-extrusion process ensures that Resortdeck is strong and resilient with lasting good looks — not to mention being extremely resistant to staining, fading and relative impact.
The board comes in perfect 4880mm lengths and is 138mm wide, giving the added advantage of less material waste. Resortdeck can be installed using Outdure's hidden fasteners on either traditional timber framing or Outdure's prefabricated Qwickbuild deck frame system. Due to this easy process, the builder on site only took four hours to complete the installation of the deck behind the master bedroom. Not only does this increase the installation speed, but it also ensures a smooth, screw-free surface that is nicer underfoot, and more akin to interior flooring.
