Passing council consent quickly and easily is beneficial to everyone involved. Most council inspectors are asking builders to use one system from a sole supplier to enclose the external walls. This is to reduce the risk of compatibility issues and void warrantees. When it comes to wall enclosure, Masons have covered all steps to have this run as smoothly as possible.
Specifying the right products
"Specifying products that work together and in the right situations is critical," says Trent Mason, Director of Masons. "For example, depending on the cladding and application, the building wrap might need to be fire retardant or absorbent. Having a non-absorbent wrap with a direct fixed non-absorbent cladding will fail inspection. Having to re-wrap and re-clad the building will cause major delay and increase costs."
"Then there is builder preference," adds Mason. "For example, your builder will prefer a window tape that sticks in all weather conditions, not only in warm dry conditions. And one that is thin not thick so the windows will slide in easily."
Building Relationships
Masons work on building good relationships with council, specifiers and builders. Masons listen to the wants and needs of the builders and bring new products to the market that will speed up the building process and are a pleasure to work with. Masons Account managers are here to assist specifiers in finding the right solution for their projects, and that includes the latest and upcoming product releases.
Tested and Approved to NZBC
Masons Building Wraps and Tapes are CodeMark certified or BRANZ appraised. This means that they are unquestionable by council inspectors when applied according to the specifications — eliminating delays.
