When specifying pre-cladding products, specifiers often start with three key questions:
- Are the products proven to be durable in New Zealand's unique conditions?
- Are the products compatible with other components used in the build?
- Do these products meet and exceed the New Zealand Building Code?
The Tekton Weatherization System is a combination of three of Marshall Innovations' key products: Tekton House Wrap, Protecto Wrap SuperStick Building Tape and Trade-Seals. Tekton Seam tape is also available for the joins in Tekton House Wrap.
- Tekton House Wrap is a fire retardant synthetic breathable wall underlay with a 60 Day UV rating, superior strength and water holdout.
- Protecto Wrap SuperStick Building Tape is a high-performance building tape for window and door openings. It is incredibly thin and strong, and is a cleaner, greener tape with no VOCs, HFCCs or CFCs. SuperStick Tape solves sealant compatibility issues that occur with other brands of tapes.
- Trade Seals are a one piece self-adhesive collar for sealing wall penetrations, like pipe and conduit, and they are available in ten different sizes. They save considerable time on site and solve the issue where tape is often incorrectly applied at this critical penetration. They can be retrofitted as well.
Sean Lett, company owner of Marshall Innovations, says "We have been supplying window flashing tapes to New Zealand for longer than any other company. Our products simply outperform the competition on all key areas, so it was a logical step to combine these products into an easy to specify system."
The Tekton Weatherization System is BRANZ appraised and is available in Masterpsec (4161M) and Smartspec (Carpentry Section) as a 'one click' specification or through the Marshall Innovations website.
