The client’s brief was to:

• make merchandise more visual, with good colour rendering, add real sparkle
• reduce lamp replacement
• reduce ambient temperature in store
• create a strong, positive customer experience and a conducive working environment
• be a commercially viable lighting proposition.

Forman assessed the client’s requirements and a simple yet practical solution was presented. As Forman Building Systems are market leaders in LED lighting technology, using its TD range of directional recessed LED downlights (4000k) provided a cost-effective yet high-performing solution.

The lighting design required special consideration for the shop frontage. In order to compensate for the natural light egress, a higher wattage TD-LED downlight was used. The inclusion of this specific lighting fixture provided a stronger level of light intensity in the window display and maintained a strong contrast and colour render for product on display.

The scope of work submitted to the customer included providing a lighting design, performance calculations, 3D rendered images, CAPX-Payback modelling and budget analysis.
