The Northland Mall owned by Kiwi Property is the second largest mall in Christchurch and the South Island. The mall was recently extended with a new food court, new mezzanine floor, space for two large stores and a winter garden style dining conservatory. New bathrooms were also added; this is where KerMac Industries comes in.
The architect for Kiwi Property has designed a look which features 2400mm-height black frames and pedestal blades with contrasting timber look panelling. The product used is the KerMac K-Moda Blade System.
The classic K-Moda System with stainless steel hardware has been enhanced with 200mm-wide black powder coated aluminium blades, black powder coated channels and headrails, and by extending the height to 2400mm and widening the doors. The doors in the K-Moda System have privacy hair fitted on the edges which as the name suggests provides privacy as well as soft closing.
The panels and doors are from the KerMac Compact Laminate range. The colour specified here is Sonoma Oak in 13mm compact laminate with a black core. This timber look is soft and realistic, with the black core tying in beautifully with the black pedestals and frames.
KerMac guarantees the compact laminate product for 10 years, making it a great choice in a mall as it is robust, cleans easily and resists damage well.
Kerry from KerMac comments that, “I found Philip Brougham, the site manager for HRS Construction Ltd, a good team partner and I hope to work together with him in the future."
