The owner of this new, modern Tauranga home realised that she needed some sort of division for the two adjoining living areas, particularly when guests visited. The kitchen and open plan dining/living area is perfect for everyday living while the adjoining lounge area is set aside for entertaining guests in a more intimate setting.
Installed about a month ago, stylish, top hung 350 series internal doors were chosen to separate the two distinct areas, without detracting from the clean, modern finish of the home. A particular advantage of top hung doors is they don't require guiding tracks on the floor, which can often be tripped over and can disrupt the look of the continuous, matching floor.
The homeowner had a neutral colour palette offset by splashes of her favourite colour, Aqua blue, in furnishing fabrics throughout the home. Etchlite semi-transparent glass had already been used extensively throughout the home, especially as it picked up the aqua colour, so this was continued in the doors.
To fully partition the 2.4 x 3.3m opening, two doors were required. They were powder coated in Dulux Silver Star (Metropolis Kinetic) to match other fixtures in the home and complete the look. Manufactured and installed by HomePlus Tauranga, the customer was thrilled with the result.
