Glaslide glass sliding doors are designed to work with the HomePlus Outdoor Living System to create adaptable outdoor rooms. Glaslide is not, however, limited to use with the HomePlus Outdoor Living System and can be installed or retrofitted onto other pergolas or outdoor structures.
Take this installation in Tauranga, for example. The customers had an existing pergola structure and while renovating the home they decided to have Glaslide sliding doors installed to transform the outdoor entertainment area into an extension of the home and add significant value by transforming the garden into an all-year round area.
Glaslide is custom made to fit, meaning that the system can be retrofitted to many kinds of existing structures. The system also gets a custom powder-coat treatment to match the architecture and seamlessly fit in with the existing design aesthetic.
The system has multiple door configurations with up to six panels able to be stacked to the same side or centre closing set up like this installation. Each panel can be fitted with a convenient foot-operated locking mechanism to help secure the panels in place.
When it comes to installing Glaslide on an existing pergola it’s important that the frame is level and plumb before installing the sliding door system. Glaslide has options available for all wind zones up to and including Very High, making it an incredibly versatile product.
Juralco has a nationwide network of installers adept at integrating the Glaslide system into existing structures to NZ Building Code standards.
