Aluminium Pedestrian Barriers Installed at Middlemore Hospital

Steel barrier fencing is a common choice for commercial applications, such as safety barriers at busy public buildings. However, Juralco Contemporary aluminium fencing was chosen to replace damaged steel fencing for the pedestrian barrier at the Middlemore Hospital's birthing unit. These pedestrian barriers are an absolute necessity to minimise crossing points and direct the public to the controlled pedestrian crossing, which sits alongside a busy bus stop and the main entrance to the building.

The previous steel fencing barrier was damaged beyond repair after collisions from vehicles, including a bus. Aluminium perimeter fencing was chosen as a substitute, as it easy to repair and maintain or replace if necessary. Custom painted in 'safety yellow' for greater visibility, extra components and panels were ordered and powder coated, for future maintenance requirements.

The barrier fencing was stepped to fit the small slope when installed by HomePlus Exteriors and they found the product user-friendly and easy to work with. The final result is a functional, smart and highly visible safety barrier that the clients are very happy with.
